Schmidt brings extensive engineering and packaging equipment industry knowledge having spent 25 years in the industry. Prior to joining ESS, he served as director of engineering for Triangle Packaging Machinery Corp, manager of engineering for Buehler, A Division of Illinois Tool Works, and senior principal engineer for Baxter Healthcare. Schmidt is also a Wisconsin Air National Guard Master Sergeant, retired, having served from 1985 to 2009.
Schmidt brings a skill set to ESS that includes multicultural team building and team leadership, expertise in electrical controls, product innovation, manufacturing process improvement and business process improvement with a focus on process efficiency. Known for being a “doer, ” Schmidt consistently challenges himself to address the needs across the business from sales order processing, customization of designs to meet customer needs, fabrication and assembly efficiencies, product quality, and growth of the business through new product development.
